Through innovation, technology and entrepreneurship, you can do today what only governments could in the past. The tools are available to reach a billion people. With these tools you can touch the lives not only of people you know, but many more that you will never meet. You can take action to discover your passion… your dreams, and make them real. You can make the world a better place, a more abundant place for everyone. In organizations large and small, for-profit and not-for-profit the key to changing the world is action: stepping forward and having the courage to risk your dreams to achieve great things. As a guide to action, exploring what entrepreneurs have accomplished, how they did it, and the impact realized can focus the path and provide useful direction.
The assignment is to research and prepare a paper (double spaced, 12 point font in Times New Roman, two to three page discussion plus citations) presenting a profile of an entrepreneur. Each student is to engage UCO library resources to research a plurality of successful entrepreneurs, select one and create a profile directed to the personal traits that contributed to the selected entrepreneur’s success. Indicate why you chose a particular entrepreneur as your subject. Discuss the major challenges encountered in their entrepreneurial ventures. Reflect on how you may use what you learn about your selected entrepreneur to shape your future course and career direction.
The MLA format will be used for the paper and citations. Use the rubric provided below as your guide. There are a total of 50 points possible; 10 points per section heading on the left in the rubric. Submit your paper in Word or PDF format to the Profile of an Entrepreneur folder in D2L. Include at least three (3) citations!
