explanatory essay MLA Required Sources 1 source the book

Paper Description For your second formal essay, you will write a 3-5 page essay based on the book Hidden Figures and the following prompt:

Based on what you have read in the book, I want you to explain what the book is intended to do for the reader. Is it meant to illicit sympathy for the women? Is it meant to simply report a historical event for a group of people in the space race? What is the book trying to do? All of your research will come from the book itself as it will be your only source for material. I expect to see plenty of quotes, statements, and passages from the book that will illustrate your points best. Think about WHAT the book is telling you the reader, and HOW it is telling you the information it is passing on to you. What effect does it have on you? These questions are key to this assignment.

3-5 pages means 3 FULL pages minimum. Anything less than 3 FULL pages will receive an F and will not be eligible for revisions. Just like the first essay, you will write an outline, rough draft, and final draft for the assignment. The essay will be typed in MLA format with Times New Roman 12 pt font and 1”margins all of the way around.
